This post will show you how to see who you shared files with in Google Drive.
One of the things that makes Google Drive an amazing tool is the ability to easily share documents with others so that you can work on documents together. Sharing files with others through Google Drive also allows you to email documents to others using a web link, which means that you don’t have to worry about file sizes, because the other person would be viewing the shared file over the internet instead of downloading the file to his or her computer. Additionally, if you need to make a change to the document, sharing it through Google Drive allows you to make changes to the file without having to resend the updated file to others. Since the shared file was sent with a Google Drive link, the other users will see all of the updates without having to receive a new version of the file.
Let’s say that you need to remember the people with whom you shared a file. Here are the steps for seeing who can access your files in Google Drive.
You can use this method to see who has access to your Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides as well as other types of files stored in your Google Drive account such as PDFs, Microsoft Office files, photos, videos, MP3s, etc.
Open the document.
Click on the blue “Share” button in the upper right corner of the window.
If you are looking at files from the Google Drive dashboard, you can right-click the file to open the Share dialog box.
Clicking the blue “Share” button or right clicking “Share” from the main dashboard will open the “Share with others” dialog box. Under the place where you can enter new people to share the document with, you will see a list of people currently able to see your file. I simply shared this document with myself using another email address.
Click the name after “Shared with…” or “Advanced” to see a full list of people who have access to that file.
