Sometimes, you need to know what’s inside of your computer. You may be buying an accessory like a keyboard or game controller, or you may be installing a piece of software that needs a lot of hardware support. You might need to know the year it was made or need to locate your Mac’s serial number or specific model number. There is a quick and easy way to check to see the components of your computer.
- Click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Select “About This Mac.”
2. Explore this window. You can click the buttons at the top of the window to get basic information like display/monitor info, storage, and memory. If you need full system stats, click on “System Report..”
System Report gives you all the information you need to know about your Mac.
