How to Use Siri-Like Dictation on Mac

Using Siri on an iPhone or iPad to write text is very useful. You can also do this on a Mac. Unlike the iPhone or iPad, you can use dictation without an internet connection.
Make Sure Dictation is Activated
 
  1. Open System Preferences.

  1. Click “Dictation & Speech”

  1. Make sure that Dictation & Speech is on. Decide if you want to use it without an internet connection.

  1. Select your language and keyboard shortcut to activate it. I just use the Fn key.

  1. Go into any program, press “Fn” or whatever shortcut you chose and start talking.
