If you have an iPhone, Siri is a great tool for completing quick tasks without you needing to pick up your device and type. It can even give you directions to a place without you needing to type in an address. However, what if you’re not a fan of Apple Maps? So far, Siri only provides directions via Apple Maps. However, there is a little workaround that you can use to trigger your preferred map app using Siri.
1. Summon siri and ask for directions to a place “via transit.” For example, ask for directions to New York via transit.
2. Since transit directions are not available in all areas, you may get a message saying that there are no transit directions and you need to use another app.
3. Chose your preferred maps app. You’ll even get suggestions from the App Store.
4. Pick your route and go!
