The Mac App Store is the equivalent to the App Store on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. This is one place where you can download programs for your Mac using your iTunes account. While you can still download software from websites and such on your Mac, apps listed in the Mac App store has gone through Apple’s verification process and are generally deemed to be safe for use. As with all pieces of software, they will need to be updated. Updating an app or checking for updates for apps in the Mac App Store is really easy.
- Open up the Mac App Store. Sometimes a badge will appear if there is an update. However, that may not always be the case, especially if you don’t leave the Mac App Store open all of the time.
- Click “Updates” from the list of buttons at the top.
3. Select the individual app you wish to update or select “Update All” to update all the apps with new versions.
