Taking a screenshot on the Mac is pretty easy. There are two options.
Option #1: Use Preview
- Open Preview and select “Take Screenshot” from the “File” menu. You can choose between a selection (click and drag what you want to capture), an entire window, or the entire screen.
2. If choosing selection, click and drag the area you want to capture. If choosing window, click the window you want to capture (example below). If you want to capture the entire screen, click Entire Screen and the picture will be taken automatically. Save your photo.
Option #2: Use a Keyboard Command
You can also take a screenshot without opening the Preview app by using a keyboard command. On the keyboard, press SHIFT + COMMAND (⌘) + 4. The cursor will change to a selection tool. Drag and take your screen shot.
