Sometimes, the internet doesn’t work the way you want it to work. It could be the website you are trying to access, or it could be your network at home. There is a way to check the status of your network at home to see if that is the problem.
- Open System Preferences.
- Select “Network.”
- Select whether you want information about Wi-Fi (wireless) or Ethernet (wired). Then click “Assist me…” at the bottom of the window.
- In this pop-up, select “Diagnostics…”
5. Check the status of the network. The Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Settings, and Network settings tell you about the status of things on your end. ISP, Internet, and Server tell you about the status of things on your internet service provider’s (Time Warner, AT&T, etc.) side. If all is well, the lights will be green. If things are not working properly, the lights will be yellow or red.
